
This Houston-based manufacturing company has been in business for 14 years. The company produces a full line of architectural wood doors for commercial use. It is one of only a few providers of fire-rated and lead-lined wood doors. The company also builds and installs custom cabinets. The products are primarily used in hospitals, clinics, government buildings and churches.
The owner was also a chemical engineer and provided consulting services to international clients. As the consulting business began to grow rapidly, he decided it was time to sell the manufacturing company. CBB took on the project and developed relationships with numerous interested buyers. The person that finally bought the business was a medical doctor with his own clinic that wanted to diversify into a manufacturing business. Since the policy and procedures of the company were well established and the former owner provided transition training, the doctor was able to successfully take over the business without having a background in manufacturing.
